Snuggie {ll} :: A pear {st}
So it took me a little while to get this final segment of the Rustic Eco-Chic photos up… the Holidays took precedence in my home, and “rest and relaxation” won out over blogging. But here they are at last, a final taste of one of my favorite shoots of 2009.
The table and hanging initials (such an easy DIY project, explained [here](http://thebridescafe.com/?postID=603&rusticecochic-affair–part-ii))
Pie table in the background.
Fabric ties on manzanita branch (manzanita, cut from the property, very sustainable!).
Recycled glass, with a cuff of fabric and a twine tie. Filled with acorns and a tea light.
More recycled glass, with a tie of fabric + ecru lace, filled with green reindeer moss.
The manzanita was tall, but sitting down we found that it didn’t impede our view of the other guests, or our conversation. Brilliant!
I love the sight of pretty place settings, all in a row.
One of [Victoria's](http://www.calligraphos.com) splendiferous place cards.
Local clippings in recycled glass syrup containers.
Reindeer moss and acorns.
Gahhhhh! [Calligraphy](http://www.calligraphos.com) to DIE for and changing light… soooo beautiful!
Glimpsed through the branches…
An exquisite table for pie and tea.
Local clippings in an old oatmeal tin. Vintage charm.
Almost too pretty to eat…But not quite. (It was DELICIOUS. Apple Cranberry. YUM.)
Details, details.
Pretty people kissing = pretty wonderful.
And that’s all! Again, I’d like to thank all the people who helped make this photo shoot possible: [Esther Ramsey](http://www.summervilleandco.blogspot.com), who provided her home as the location, helped me with the set-up, let me pick green and brown living things off her property, and shot all the gorgeous images that are currently on the opening page of this site and in the portfolio, [Rustic Eco-Chic](http://www.lauryllane.com/portfolio/rustic_eco-chic.html). [Victoria Hoke Lane](http://www.calligraphos.com), for the invitation suite and place cards, all crafted entirely by hand with recycled and home-made paper, and for her ever-perfect calligraphy. Liz Summerville, for making that pretty, pretty (pretty YUM!) pie. Jeff and Gabrielle Ramsey, for modeling with such flair (pretty convincing, huh? well, they ARE newlyweds themselves)! And last but not least, my husband, Sammy, for all his support and assistance. This was such a fun project and I loved working with each one of you.
Hope the photos are inspiring for all the rest of you! Let’s all try to be more eco-friendly in 2010, okay? Good!
I recently designed a bouquet and boutonniere for [Jasmine Star](http://www.jasminestar.com)’s photography workshop. Jasmine is absolutely lovely (not to mention uber-talented) and I was thrilled to design for her. She blogged about the [workshop here](http://www.jasminestarblog.com/index.cfm?postID=715), and I’ll share some more of her photos from the workshop next week. But in the meantime, I thought I’d share a gorgeous photo of the bouquet, taken by workshop attendee [Anda Marie](http://www.andamarieblog.com/) (thanks, Anda!).

Doesn’t it just say “autumn” to you? And of course, the seasonal holiday is *Thanksgiving*, which just happens to be tomorrow. I am spending time with my family in San Antonio for the holiday, and reflecting on the things I’m thankful for right now: a loving and supportive family, the opportunity I have to work at something I love, the gift of creativity, and the exceptional vendors (many who have become dear friends) and exciting clients that I spend time with regularly. It sounds cliched, but *I am blessed*. **And so very thankful**.
May each of YOU be blessed as well, and have a very happy Thanksgiving!
A few weeks ago, I worked on a Rustic, Eco-Chic faux wedding photo shoot with photographer [Esther Ramsey](http://www.summervilleandco.blogspot.com) and my Mother, calligrapher [Victoria Hoke Lane](http://www.calligraphos.com). We created a fun tablescape and were delighted when it was featured yesterday on one of our favorite wedding blogs, [The Bride's Cafe](http://www.thebridescafe.com)!

You can check out pictures and some DIY project descriptions on the two-part posts, “[Rustic Eco-Chic Affair, Part 1](http://thebridescafe.com/?postID=602&rusticecochic-affair–part-i)” and “[Part 2](http://thebridescafe.com/?postID=603&rusticecochic-affair–part-ii).” Next week, I’ll share more details and more photos right here! Until then, I’m wishing you a pumpkin-pie-filled Thanksgiving!
So this is “old news” by now, but I’m still giddy with excitement– my work was recently featured on [Style Me Pretty](http://www.stylemepretty.com)!!!

Style Me Pretty is the wedding “it” blog right now– chock full of THE prettiest, most detail-oriented, best-photographed wedding images in the blogosphere. I consider it a huge honor to see my work featured on SMP, and I can’t thank [Abby](http://www.stylemepretty.com/about/all-about-abby/) enough for including the “student images” from [Jessica Claire](http://www.jessicaclaire.net)’s workshop.
Apparently these students didn’t have too much to learn, because their photos are astonishingly lovely. [Summer](http://www.greylikesweddings.wordpress.com) and I had so much fun going through each of the photographer’s images, noticing the differences and various perspectives, and choosing our favorites to submit to Abby. The pictures are on SMP in three installments [here](http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/11/04/photography-workshop-by-jessica-claire/), [here](http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/11/04/photography-workshop-by-jessica-claire-ii/) and [here](http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/11/04/photography-workshop-by-jessica-claire-iii/). Enjoy!
Yesterday was an exciting day for us: [Utterly Engaged Magazine's](http://www.utterlyengaged.com) fifth edition went live!!! Any day that an issue of [UE](http://www.utterlyengaged.com) comes out is a good day, as far as I’m concerned. But this issue was uber-satisfying, because *[Lauryl Lane](http://www.lauryllane.com)* designs were featured. TWICE!!!
~class=”middle”~
[Brandon Kidd's](http://www.bkiddphoto.com) images (which I [shared here](http://www.lauryllane.com/blog/jessica-claire-photography-workshop) and were [featured here](http://greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com/2009/09/more-vintage-french-wedding-inspiration.html)) were included in an article about the paper-crafting that went into the [Jessica Claire](http://www.jessicaclaire.net) workshop photo shoot. [Summer](http://www.greylikesweddings.wordpress.com) explained her various projects and how she kept things cohesive by using the same paper pattern over and over again. Not only an incredibly talented stylist and a totally fab blogger, Summer is a wonderful writer, too (ps. she has a master’s degree in English! Of COURSE she’s a terrific writer!). Naturally, there are incredible pictures of [Lauryl Lane]({$sitepath}) florals all throughout the article. [Check it out here](http://www.utterlyengaged.com/category/issues/issue-005/page/50/).

AND, there is also a little “Fresh Vendor” feature on Lauryl Lane, with some beautiful photos of my work. Thanks to all the photographers who have shared their work with me, you make my work look so good!
[Check out the vendor feature here.](http://www.utterlyengaged.com/category/e-magazine/14-fresh-vendors/)

A huge thank you to the lovely ladies of [Utterly Engaged](http://www.utterlyengaged.com) for including my work in this edition of the magazine – I had the opportunity to meet two of the UE ladies recently, and they are such fun, talented women. I am truly honored that they chose to feature my designs.

Well-known Los Angeles Wedding & Event Designer
Relocates Company Headquarters to Denver, Colorado
Denver, Colo. – November 1, 2011 – Celebrated wedding and event floral and décor designer Lauryl Lane, today announced the relocation of her company, Lauryl Lane, to Denver, Colo. Known for bringing her fresh, organic, nature-inspired signature look to weddings and events throughout the country, Lane’s creative eye and romantic sensibility earned her an overnight following among a variety of clientele including the Hollywood elite. Designing events from intimate back-yard weddings to massive ballroom galas, to arrangements for the illustrious Fashion’s Night Out in Beverly Hills, Lane works directly with each of her clients to create completely custom designs.
Eco-friendliness has also been a primary focus of Lane’s company since it’s formation. Sourcing her flowers from Veriflora Certified farms and using local resources whenever possible are just a couple of the myriad ways that Lane promotes sustainability. After a Lauryl Lane event, used floral arrangements are re-purposed and donated to local nursing homes to bring smiles to the faces of elderly residents, a charitable contribution that Lane plans to continue in Denver.
Due to her many pre-booked events in Southern California and throughout the country, Lane has a limited number of dates open for Colorado bookings in 2012 and beyond. She begins meeting today with potential clients in the area, and her available dates are sure to go fast. While she will be regularly traveling between Denver and Los Angeles to serve her currently booked clients, she is excited to begin designing in her new locale.
“The stunning topography of Denver and the surrounding resort communities is thoroughly inspiring and I can hardly wait to begin designing for the beautiful locations I’m now surrounded by, ” said Lane. “Colorado has always been a mecca for people who appreciate beauty in nature and I am honored to be a new member of such a vibrant and welcoming conclave of artists.”
To kick off her move to Denver, new Colorado clients who book Lauryl Lane to design their 2012 event by January 1, 2012 will receive a complimentary signature European hand-tied wedding bouquet.
Bursting onto the Los Angeles wedding scene when she formed her company in 2007, Lane received immediate success and as a floral designer and stylist, is considered to be at the forefront of the wedding and event industry. Lane’s work has been featured multiple times in publications including Cosmopolitan, Cosmopolitan Bride, Southern Weddings, Brides.com, TheKnot.com, Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, CRAVE Los Angeles, Grey Likes Weddings, The Bride’s Café, Flower Magazine, Serendipity Magazine, Utterly Engaged Magazine and more.
