Yesterday, while trolling the internet, I came across several lovely images of grown women sporting braids. My first instinct, beyond wanting braids, was that my hair is just too short.

But then I played with it. I used to french braid my little sisters’ hair every.single.day. I got so sick of french braids that I honestly hoped I’d never see another french braid. And here I am, plaiting little crowns of braids into my own hair.

It’ll take a while for my fingers to get used to it- I still have to think through the steps as I piece it all together. But it’s not hard- and it looks so charming. So old-world. So fairy-tale-esque. Yeah baby, french braids are back!
