Rustic Eco-Chic, Part Three

Rustic Eco-Chic, Part Three

by: Lauryl Lane

So it took me a little while to get this final segment of the Rustic Eco-Chic photos up… the Holidays took precedence in my home, and “rest and relaxation” won out over blogging. But here they are at last, a final taste of one of my favorite shoots of 2009.

The table and hanging initials (such an easy DIY project, explained here)

Pie table in the background.

Fabric ties on manzanita branch (manzanita, cut from the property, very sustainable!).

Recycled glass, with a cuff of fabric and a twine tie. Filled with acorns and a tea light.

More recycled glass, with a tie of fabric + ecru lace, filled with green reindeer moss.

The manzanita was tall, but sitting down we found that it didn’t impede our view of the other guests, or our conversation. Brilliant!

I love the sight of pretty place settings, all in a row.

One of Victoria’s splendiferous place cards.

Local clippings in recycled glass syrup containers.

Reindeer moss and acorns.

Gahhhhh! Calligraphy to DIE for and changing light… soooo beautiful!

Glimpsed through the branches…

An exquisite table for pie and tea.

Local clippings in an old oatmeal tin. Vintage charm.

Almost too pretty to eat…But not quite. (It was DELICIOUS. Apple Cranberry. YUM.)

Details, details.

Pretty people kissing = pretty wonderful.

And that’s all! Again, I’d like to thank all the people who helped make this photo shoot possible: Esther Ramsey, who provided her home as the location, helped me with the set-up, let me pick green and brown living things off her property, and shot all the gorgeous images that are currently on the opening page of this site and in the portfolio, Rustic Eco-Chic. Victoria Hoke Lane, for the invitation suite and place cards, all crafted entirely by hand with recycled and home-made paper, and for her ever-perfect calligraphy. Liz Summerville, for making that pretty, pretty (pretty YUM!) pie. Jeff and Gabrielle Ramsey, for modeling with such flair (pretty convincing, huh? well, they ARE newlyweds themselves)! And last but not least, my husband, Sammy, for all his support and assistance. This was such a fun project and I loved working with each one of you.

Hope the photos are inspiring for all the rest of you! Let’s all try to be more eco-friendly in 2010, okay? Good!

So wondrously pretty! :-) I adore the acorns but confess that vivid green moss has utterly stolen my heart. :-)
