Just Kidding!

I don't really want a baby. Just to clarify. I mean I do, but not for like ten more years. I don't even want to have to take care of a DOG right now-- I'm afraid I'd get tired of a baby after a few days. But I am really happy for Laura and her little Emilie is a BEAUTIFUL baby. Y'know how some babies are just ugly when they are born, all squashed and wrinkled? My brother Gabriel was one of the ugliest things EVER when he came out. I was only 5 and a half years old, but I told my Mum that I didn't think he was pretty at all. Mum says he looked like Elmer McFudd.

Mum is meeting me tomorrow with the girls to finalize the bridesmaid dress and get the girls measured. After that Samuel and I are supposed to settle on the invitations and then go pick out the tuxedos. I am just so relieved that we are getting everything taken care of.

This just in: Wanda's will keep 35% of our downpayment (which was $260) if we cancel. So obviously, since it was a money issue in the first place, we aren't going to cancel. We're going to meet with her on Monday night to figure out how to make it work. It just won't be the cake of my dreams unless we pay $1,000-- and since I'm not even spending half that on my dress, it doesn't make much sense to me.

Speaking of dress, I finished my FINAL pencil sketch yesterday. Will scan it in and post it tonite. Rebecca Newton is coming in from Bartlesville tonight to visit me. We haven't gotten together in forever and I'm looking forward to seeing her. We met over the internet YEARS ago due to our mutual obsession with Jane Austen and the Regency Period. We are also both designers and dressmakers, and while we don't have a whole lot in common beyond that, it's enough to have kept us in a nice friendship for quite some time. I'm making High Tea for dinner-- cucumber sandwiches (with some yummy bread I bought at the Blue Moon Bakery just a few doors over from the flower shop), fruit salad, hard-boiled eggs-- with tea and scones to finish it up. I'll try to take a few pictures.

Kat started a new blog for TU Alums. She cracks me up. I do NOT know where she finds the time, but it's pretty cute. I already asked off for September 24th so that Samuel and I can go to Homecoming and hang out with the old folks. Should be a blast to get krunked again with my old sorority/fraternity homies. I miss them!
